FCA Costa Rica
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Costa Rica is dedicated to transforming lives through the influence of coaches and athletes. Our ministry is growing rapidly, with staff serving in four regions of the country to engage, equip, and empower the local sports community.
Currently, FCA Costa Rica has five staff members and is growing, each committed to advancing the mission of impacting coaches and athletes for Christ.
Our Team
Daniel Gamboa, based in Alajuela, oversees strategy, partnerships, and ministry growth in Costa Rica. Joining him in Alajuela is Rigel Campos, who provides essential administrative support and helps keep our staff equipped and organized. In Heredia, Jafet Vega serves as Field Representative, leading ministry efforts through huddles, camps, and outreach activities to equip coaches and athletes. In the Caribbean region, in Limón, Adrián Chinchilla is expanding FCA's presence through sports ministry, community engagement, and chaplaincy, while Pamela Salas focuses on building strong relationships with athletes, coaches, and schools to further strengthen FCA's impact in the region.

Impact by Region
Central West (Alajuela & Heredia)
The Central West region serves as the heart of FCA Costa Rica. From Alajuela, Daniel and Rigel coordinate the ministry's strategy and provide support that equips the entire team, while in Heredia, Jafet leads an active sports ministry with athletes and coaches. Through huddles, camps, and ongoing discipleship, this region is experiencing steady growth and serves as a solid foundation for national impact. Additionally, through collaborations with sports committees, we will soon begin creating sports programs for the community, expanding opportunities for transformation through sports.
East Central (San José & Cartago)
Although FCA doesn't yet have staff in San José or Cartago, relationships are already beginning to form. Opportunities are opening up to connect with coaches, athletes, and schools in these areas, and the region represents great potential for future ministry growth.
Caribbean (Limon)
The Caribbean region is experiencing exciting momentum. Adrian and Pamela are leading the expansion of FCA's presence through sports ministry, chaplaincy, and deep community involvement. Coaches and athletes are being equipped not only in their sport but also in their faith, bringing transformation to local schools and clubs.
Pacific (Puntarenas & Guanacaste)
Although FCA does not yet have staff in the Pacific region, doors have been opened through vision trips and local connections. Sports and community leaders have been identified, and FCA seeks to partner with them to make a lasting impact in this region. With its vibrant sports culture and strong community spirit, the Pacific holds great potential for future ministry expansion.
